The pH of pure water is 7. In general, water with a pH lower than 7 is considered acidic, and with a pH greater than 7 is considered basic. The normal range for pH in surface water systems is 6.5 to 8.5, and the pH range for groundwater systems is between 6 to 8.5. The Canadian drinking water quality guideline for pH is an Aesthetic Objective (AO) of between 6.5 and 8.5. pH
BY ADMINISTRATOR · JANUARY 5, 2021UBID’s water distribution and treatment system is independent of the CVRD’s water system and draws its source water from Langley Lake, not Comox Lake. With the introduction of a Dissolved Air Flotation plant in May 2020, the likelihood of a Boil Water Notice due to turbidity is highly unlikely. Please note that UBID is NOT on a Boil Water Notice.
