Several landowners have asked for clarification what constitutes a majority of voters with respect to the referendum. The BC Elections Manual provides the answer as follows:
16.3 How Assent of the electors is obtained?
Assent of the electors is obtained if a majority of the valid votes cast by eligible electors are in favour of the adoption of the bylaw or the question.
